ETP briefing paper: Omnibus Law on Job Creation

Indonesia's parliament is set to continue plans with the contentious Omnibus Law after the court had previously rendered it unconstitutional. 

Originally designed to improve the ease of doing business, the law amends 79 existing laws and includes several controversial amendments to existing labour laws. 

Trade unions and environmental groups continue to call on the government to abandon the law as it threatens worker protections and environmental standards.
