China Farmer Field Schools: Executive Summary

Farmer Field Schools (FFS) are a valuable development approach that enhance farmers’ understanding of a range of complex issues concerning sustainable production.

At the schools, farmers learn how to utilise safe and effective agricultural practices, adapt to, and mitigate the effects of climate change, and manage and diversity their incomes.

In 2018, we launched the FFS programme in 30 tea communities in China. After great success, in September 2020, we decided to expand the programme to a further 17 tea communities in the Yunnan, Guizhou and Hunan provinces.

We’ve produced a short overview of the programme, documenting its impact and key achievements.
